The former Payless location on South Gloster Street in Tupelo, adjacent to Jimmy John’s, will become a Checkers Drive-In restaurant.
Preliminary plans have been submitted to the city’s Planning Department, but there aren’t any additional details yet as to when it might open.
Checker’s sister restaurant is Rally’s, by the way.
Currently there are six Checker’s/Rally restaurants in Mississippi – Jackson (three location), Laurel, Pearl and Madison.
The chain has a combined 900 locations in 28 states.
