A definite date hasn’t been set for the opening of MADDEN CRAB in the former Super Hibachi restaurant on South Gloster Street across from North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, but work continues at a feverish pace to get it open in the next month or so.
The dockside theme they’ve been working on has come together, and just yesterday, the bar was installed.
As we mentioned a few weeks back, the restaurant will be serving seafood – boiled and fried. But we also got a peek at the menu, and other items include appetizers like cheese sticks, onion rings, fried calamari, popcorn shrimp, chicken wings and corn nuggets; sides like corn on the cob, steamed rice, fried rice, cajun fries, french fries, fried sweet potatoes and sausage; pasta, including seafood scampi, garlic noodles, cheese pasta (penne); seafood pizza; combination platters with your choice of shrimp, crawfish, snow crab legs and lobster; lunch baskets including fried shrimp, chicken tenders, fried fish, fried oysters, fried calamari and chicken wings, all served with cajun fries; and dessert and kids menus. It’s a lot to cover, so photos of the menu are posted.
The building before it was Super Hibachi was a Barnhill’s until it closed in mid-2013. Super Hibachi opened in November 2014.
