There’s been some speculation about the fate of the Super Hibachi restaurant on South Gloster Street in Tupelo, and of course Biz Buzz has the details to share.
Indeed, after closing the restaurant a few months back, the plan was to revamp the menu.
And so they have.
With a plan to reopen in March if all goes well, the restaurant will be called MADDEN CRAB, and as its name suggets, will offer seafood. And it also will have steak and of course, sides, on the menu. There will be NO buffet; strictly menu-only. Again – no buffet.
The seafood – shrimp, oysters, crab, will come primarily from Louisiana/Gulf Coast. Lobster, of course, will not.
We don’t have a menu yet, but we’ll pass it along when we do.
Meanwhile, the interior is getting remodeled again. A few more walls are going up, and a dockside theme is underway, with pier posts and pilings being built to decorate the dining room. A bar also will be installed. The bathrooms are getting gutted once again and the kitchen is getting revamped as well.
The building, as you’ll recall (or maybe want to forget) was a Barnhill’s until it closed in mid-2013 due to some, um, health code violations and other issues. After a gutting of the place, Super Hibachi opened in November 2014.
The work this time isn’t as extensive, but there will be a noticeable change on the inside and presumably, on the exterior of the building.
We’ll keep you updated as work progresses.
