Yes, you heard right – Bulldog Burger Co. is opening a location in Tupelo.
A banner at Taste of Tupelo proclaimed the news, although it had been rumored for some time that the Starkville-based restaurant was looking for an All-America City location.
So here are the details: It’ll be located at 311 S. Gloster – the white building across from McAlister’s.
The building, built in 1947, is some 7,200 square feet. Here’s what you might not have heard: It will be more than a restaurant. There will also be a retail space.
And the restaurant will be unlike the Starkville location, which opened in early 2016. The menu will be similar, of course. But the brickwork and other details of the Tupelo building is far different from the former gas station that the Starkville restaurant replaced. So the atmosphere will be different as well.
Opening is planned for sometime next spring.
And yes, it will be Bulldog Burger Co. – no name change. It’s a brand for the restaurant and NOT an extension of Mississippi State University.
Bulldog Burger is a part of the Eat With Us group – which has Sweet Peppers, Harveys and the Grill brands under its wing. All the restaurants trace their roots back to Starkville.
More details on the restaurant, including what it will look like, will be released later this year or early next year, and we’ll have them for you.
Meanwhile, salivate over this cheeseburger…..
