Blake Estes’ newest restaurant venture is open in downtown Tupelo.
206 Fish, Steak and Seafood House is located at 206 Troy St., across from Renasant Bank.
During lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the restaurant serves a plate lunch, and a special of the day also is offered.
The interior of the restaurant has been tweaked a bit with Estes taking over the spot, but the wood flooring and furniture from when it was Anthony’s Neapolitan Pizza remains. The large brick oven used for the pizzas is gone, opening up more dining space for the 206.
The bar remains, with the Anthony’s metal sign gone, replaced by a 206 sign.
The lunch hours for 206 are Tuesday-Friday 11 a.m. to 2 p.m .and Sundays 11 a.m. to 2:30. Dinner is served Tuesday through Saturday 4:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
“But we are open between those hours, so if somebody wants to come in and have a seat at the bar or something, we’ll serve them,” Estes said.
Estes closed his first venture, a partnership that opened Southern Fish and Steak on Industrial Road, last month. He wanted to be downtown and tailor the menu the way he wanted and had long thought of a concept like what 206 has to offer.
“I like to call it an old-school fish and steak house with a new twist to it,” he said in a recent interview.
And what he wants diners to know it that he’s only serving the best.
“We’ve got Simmons catfish from the Delta and we’re serving Certified Black Angus Steaks that are aged a minimum of 30 days that goes into a big steak selection here,” Estes said. “We’ve got oysters and shrimp delivered to us fresh from Ocean Fresh Seafood. We’re just using really great products in the Mississippi. We’re excited about this.”
