Todd’s Big Star in Tupelo has begun testing its online grocery ordering and pickup service, but it needs more volunteers to help it work out any bugs in the system.
The West Main Street store needs “all we can get,” said store manager Joey Cole. “We’ve been testing the service already and filled four or five orders, but we’d like to get as many beta testers as we can, as soon as we can, for the next week and a half or so.”
The store announced in February its intentions to provide online ordering and pickup. The prices on the thousands of items in the store will be the same online as well.
Cole says the store will give each volunteer a $5 coupon.
Since the pickup service charge is $4.99, the coupon will cover that charge.
Once the testing is complete, Todd’s plans to have a slow rollout of the service.
“It’s a big investment for us, but we felt like it was something we needed to do,” Cole said in an earlier interview. “Customers have been asking us for years. And it’s a convenience factor, and I understand that.”
