Acco Brands Corp. is investing $1.5 million and adding 35 jobs at its Booneville plant.
Acco is one of the world’s largest designers, marketers and manufacturers of branded academic, consumer and business products. The new jobs will be in manufacturing and the distribution center.
“Acco Brands continually evaluates its business to determine the strategy and structure needed to improve service to our customers, while remaining cost-competitive,” said Bob Alley, General Manager of Manufacturing and Distribution for Acco.
Two projects are underway in Booneville: the consolidation of additional North American distribution operations, and the installation of new manufacturing equipment that will enable the facility to produce and distribute a wide range of glass dry erase boards. This new technology is an important step to ensure that Acco Brands stays up-to-date in a rapidly growing and very dynamic segment of the market place.
Job openings are currently posted, with hiring occurring in a phased approach through the end of January 2018. Interested applicants can apply at www.accobrands.com, or apply onsite at one of the two upcoming job fairs: today at Acco’s facility in Booneville, 300 Quartet Avenue, from 4-6 p.m.; and on Dec. 13, at the WIN Job Center in Corinth from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Prentiss County Development Association, Prentiss County Board of Supervisors and the city of Booneville helped in the expansion, the company said.
