From our colleague at Corinth Today comes this news of the return of a restaurant:
The Back Yard Burgers in Corinth will re-open under new ownership.
The restaurant located in the Harper Square shopping center is expected to reopen sometime around the first of November, said building landlord Stacey Mitchell.
The previous Back Yard Burgers at the location closed about a year ago.
There will be a new franchisee, owner and management for the upcoming location, Mitchell said.
The new franchisee, Josh Powell of Little Rock, Arkansas, has seven other locations, including three in the Mississippi Delta, three in Arkansas and one in Tennessee.
Mitchell said there has been a lot of positive feedback on Back Yard Burgers coming back to Corinth.
Powell was reportedly encouraged by all the positive activity going on in Corinth with new businesses and the baseball park that is bringing travel leagues to town.
The Back Yard Burgers building is currently being revamped with some painting and other improvements, Mitchell added.
Tupelo was once home to a Back Yard Burgers location as well. It closed in early 2013. HoneyBaked Ham moved into the spot in August 2015.
