Beer lovers will get to taste some of their favorites, and perhaps a few new ones, during today’s Ale Trail in downtown Tupelo.
It’s the second year of the progressive beer tasting, with stops at 14 shops throughout downtown from 5:30 p.m to 7:30 p.m.
Participating locations include About the South, Blairhaus, The Caron Gallery, Crave, Farmhouse, MLM, Popsy, Reed’s Women’s Department, Spring Street Cigars, SWIRLZ, The Main Attraction, Tupelo Hardware, Tupelo Community Theatre and Willow Bride.
An after party will take place from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m at the Farmers’ Depot.
“We have a maximum of 500 tickets, and we’re encouraging everyone to buy them at the participating locations or at our office,” said Reagan Pepper of the Downtown Tupelo Main Street Association.
Tickets are $25. The DTMSA office is at 108 S. Broadway St.
The event will begin at First National Bank Tupelo, where participants will check in and receive a complimentary beer-tasting glass. Each location will have a different beer to taste, as well as a food pairing.
The after party at the Farmers’ Depot will include live music, food from Vanelli’s Bistro and a cash bar.
The Ale Trail is modeled after the spring Wine Downtown event. It also is the descendent of the former Hops & Stops, which was held for several years before the now-defunct Tupelo Craft Beer Festival, which was held from 2013-2015.
