The Mall at Barnes Crossing general manager Jeff Snyder said the large dust wall covering H&M will come down Aug. 6, followed by an opening on Aug. 10
We finally have opening dates for two stores at The Mall at Barnes Crossing people have been talking about for some time. We’re talking about H&M and HomeGoods.
First, let’s talk about the stores:
21,000-square-foot store is set to have the giant dust wall currently covering its space at the mall taken down Aug. 6. Then the store is set to open on Monday, Aug. 10.
It will be the Swedish fast-fashion retailer’s third store in Mississippi; the others are in Northpark Mall in Ridgeland and Tanger Outlets in Southaven.
H&M is the world’s second-largest clothing retailer, and is set to open 430 new stores this financial year, including locaton in new markets like Kazakhstan, Colombia, Iceland, Vietnam and Georgia.
• As for HomeGoods, fixtures are being moved into the store as you read this.
HomeGoods is scheduled to open Aug. 20
The 24,000-square-foot-store, which sells furniture, lamps, rugs and home decor, is located in the space adjacent to Dick’s Sporting Goods.
HomeGoods –whose sister companies are T.J. Maxx and Marshall’s under parent TJX Companies – has some 580 stores in 45 states. HomeGood’s other Mississippi stores are in Madison, Olive Branch and Flowood.
• And what about the FOOD COURT, you say?
Two restaurants are set to open by the Christmas holidays
One restaurant will go in the former Cajun Cafe grill (located to the right of Chick-Fil-A. Word has it that it will be a Japanese quick-service type eatery.
The other restaurant will go in the place next to Sbarro that was at one time home to Jimmy’s Seaside Burgers and Fries, and before that, Krispy Krunchy Chicken. And prior to KKC, it was a location for Bar-B-Que by Jim. What it is, we don’t know yet, but it’s attached with some national recognition, from what I understand.
We’ll pass along updates as we get them.
