What’s left of the old Shell station was being cleared away Monday.
The old Shell gas station on South Gloster Street in Tupelo and that sat at one of the entrances to Midtown Pointe (formerly Gloster Creek Village) is gone, having been torn down over the past week.
But it won’t be another gas station that will go in its place. Instead, it will be a branch of BankPlus.
Set to open in early to mid-2018, it will be the fourth office for BankPlus, which currently has an office on Spring Street and another under construction at the West Main Street and Cliff Gookin Boulevard/Coley Road intersection.
The third branch is set to open later this year at the Tupelo Crossroads development on North Gloster, where Aspen Dental and Which Wich recently opened. That development also has Zaxby’s building a standalone restaurant that will open later this year, and Pyro’s Fire Fresh Pizza is opening next to Which Wich.
