Toyota Mississippi, suppliers have contributed $32K so far to relief efforts

Toyota Motor Manufacturing Mississippi and some of its suppliers have donated money and volunteer time toward relief agencies in Northeast Mississippi in response to last week’s tornado. 

Toyota says it wants to encourage as much financial support for the agencies, whether it’s Red Cross, United Way, the CREATE Tornado Relief Fund, etc., to help victims of the tornado.

Here’s a running list of what TMMMS and its suppliers have donated. The list is sure to grow, as there are a few other suppliers for the plant:

  • Toyota Mississippi: $20,000 to Red Cross, plus a supply drive and donation match. Also 227 volunteers so far have helped with with relief efforts.
  • Toyota Boshoku: $5,000 to United Way,  plus a supply drive and 62 volunteers
  • SAI: $5,000 TBD, plus a supply drive and volunteers with United Way
  • Blue Springs/Green Metals: $2,000 TBD, plus a supply drive and volunteers with United Way.
