Bishop’s BBQ on Main Street in Tupelo now open

As many of you have no doubt discovered, Bishop’s BBQ has opened its newest location on West Main Street in Tupelo.

It’s in the former Eli’s BBQ, which closed last fall.

Bishop’s owner Ronnie Bishop has been renovating the building for several weeks, and the restaurant officially opened today.

It’s Bishop’s fourth location, joining his original store in Saltillo, another in Booneville and its other Tupelo location on McCullough Boulevard.

And Bishop isn’t finished expanding. In an interview with the Daily Journal earlier this year, he said he envisioned adding more location:

“We’re looking at New Albany, Fulton, Ripley, Corinth, Houston. … We want to move in a circle out from Tupelo,” Bishop said. “We’ve always had people approach us about opening a restaurant, and that’s humbling. It means we must be doing something right.”
