Slowly but surely, Firehouse Subs is getting its store built in Tupelo.
You’ll remember it’s been a long work in progress for the project (click here for previous coverage), but the restaurant will sit on the former Dixie Gas site on West Main Street, sandwiched (pun intended) between the AT&T store and West Main Church of Christ.
When we last spoke to franchise owner Chris Stephenson, he said it would take 4-5 months once construction began to have the store open. So, if that’s still the plan, it will be late spring/early summer before Firehouse Subs is open, and not April/May as originally stated.
But you never know – if construction picks up, it could open by then. We’ll check in with him ASAP. It’s lunchtime as I write this, and probably not a good time to get him on the phone at his Oxford location.
