Toyota Motor Manufacturing Mississippi has been building the new 2014 Corolla for more than a month (click here for previous coverage), and next week, they’ll celebrate with an invitation-only event at the BancorpSouth Arena.
The event is for Toyota’s 2,000 team members and their families, along with TMMMS suppliers and their families. They’ll celebrate at the Arena on Saturday, Sept. 7.
The invitation for the big party is billed as the “Greatest Reveal on Earth,” a play on the “Greatest Show on Earth” tagline made popular by Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus. So, expect something circus-like, without the animals. Think more Cirque du Soleil.
And yes, the Daily Journal will be there to cover the festivities. I’m looking forward to it.
As for the new 11th-generation Corolla, it should be hitting dealership lots soon. Since TMMMS began production in October 2011, the plant has produced nearly 250,000 Corollas, including a few thousand of the newest model. Here are more photos of it if you’ve missed previous postings of the 2014 Corolla:
