Silver Airways, which officially begins service between Tupelo and Atlanta on Monday, says, it’s ready to go.
Here’s a press release from Silver:
Silver Airways tickets are on sale now for new flights starting Oct. 1, 2012 from Greenville, Tupelo, Hattiesburg-Laurel and Meridian, Miss., as well as Muscle Shoals, Ala., to the Southeast’s gateway to the world, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL). In support of the new service, airline executives have recently held community meetings across Alabama and Mississippi during which they’ve expressed their full commitment to serving the Southeast with the same superior level of professional service that has made Silver Airways one of the fastest growing airlines in the U.S. today.
“At Silver Airways, we only know one way to do things, and that’s first class,” said CEO Darrell Richardson. “We’re coming to Mississippi and Alabama on a mission to elevate air travel in the region to new heights. It all starts on the first of October, and we couldn’t be more excited.”
Since its inception in December 2011, Silver Airways has grown its route network by 60 percent, adding new destinations to its intra-Florida network, now the largest in the state in terms of the total number of gateways and daily flights, while also opening new hubs in Washington, DC and Atlanta. At the same time, the company has invested heavily in new technology and equipment, modernizing and upgrading its fleet with the addition of 15 Saab 340Bplus aircraft between December 2011 and September 2012. (An additional six Saab 340Bplus aircraft will enter the Silver Airways fleet by January 1, 2013.)
Silver Airways will deploy Saab 340Bplus aircraft on its new routes to Mississippi and Alabama. The most advanced turboprops operating today, the 34-seat Saab 340Bplus features comforts and amenities comparable to larger jet aircraft. Plush leather seating with ample legroom, large and easily accessible overhead bins, personalized flight attendant service, on-board lavatories, and an active noise reduction system combine to deliver a superior in-flight experience. The Saab 340Bplus is also among the world’s most eco-friendly aircraft, burning 60% less fuel per hour than a 70-seat regional jet, while emitting lower levels of carbon dioxide.
Not only can you feel good about flying our eco-friendly planes, but our executive-level in-flight service will also make you feel like a VIP every time you travel with us,” Richardson continued. “We look forward to welcoming our new customers in the Southeast beginning next month.”
